If this really is Palin Nation, here's the virtual visual of what that'd actually be like...
Imagine walking into the Oval Office. What would you expect to see? A few American flags scattered around, pictures of past presidents, gold eagles, a sealskin rug, a pitbull with lipstick. What a second... Check out palinaspresident.us to experience this frightening "reality."

Checking In With Levi Johnston
Here are some of my favorite quotes from the Associated Press's interview with Sarah Palin's future son in law, Levi Johnston.
WASILLA, Alaska — Levi Johnston, who's having a baby with Gov. Sarah Palin's daughter, can't believe all the things he's hearing.Since attending the RNC, Levi's dropped out of high school and is now training to be an electrician. The Palin-Johnston clan seems to be off to a good start.
Johnston hinted he's expecting a boy, but he declined to discuss baby names."I'm looking forward to having him," he said. "I'm going to take him hunting and fishing. He'll be everywhere with me."
He's bagged bears, sheep, elk, and caribou. Some of the antlers are scattered about his yard. Last July on a caribou hunt he lost a "promise" ring that Palin had given him. He said he decided to tattoo her name on the finger and not bother with more rings because he'd just lose them anyway.
What about Johnston's politics?
The young man said he wasn't an expert on politics by any stretch. Asked about Barack Obama, he replied: "I don't know anything about him. He seems like a good guy. I like him."
Johnston didn't register in time to vote, according to the Mat-Su Division of Elections Office in Wasilla. But he's still rooting for John McCain and Sarah Palin.
"I just hope she wins," he said. "She's my future mother-in-law. She better win."

This is So Ridiculous!
Republicans are crazy. Apparently, they weren't too happy about the fact that Newsweek didn't retouch Sarah Palin's face. WHAT??? Bizarre. Check out the hilariousness of this VID from Fox News. God, I hate them.

From The ACB: This is Anonymous, so it's not wrong to post, is it?
i wanna have a baby. i'm a freshman, but i've done some research, and gloria at the day care center off campus (right by the butts) said she'll work overtime to offer any support i need. bazically i'm looking for a baby daddy-- you know, no protection.... i just wanna reproduce witchu. send me a personal message and i'll see if you've got the traits i want in a babby boy.
i know this is wierd thing to post on tha ACB but i owuld appreciate it if there were no haters responding to this post. it would hurt me to know that somebody out there isn't supporting my choice just because it goes against our society's expectations for a girl my age.
just post if ur inrested.
p.s. you don't need to pay child support.

Pretentious or Sweet?
Maria Alexandra Vettese (left) is an artist living with two cats in Portland, Maine. Her perfect day includes an early rising-time and bedtime. In her dreams she sits at a table in a sparse but warm room and writes letters by hand all day.
Stephanie Congdon Barnes (right) is a
mother of two from Portland, Oregon. She
loves the woods, good bacon and making little things out of wool and linen. The first thing she does in the morning is put water on to boil for coffee."
What do you think? We need to make "about us" blurbs.
3,191 Reasons To Stay Friends
Two friends living 3,191 miles apart (Portland, Maine and Portland, Oregon) spent the year in constant communication by sending a daily photo to each other. They recently published their book A Year of Mornings: 3191 Miles Apart (Princeton Architectural Press).
Upon scanning their blog, I was deeply moved by their "photographic conversations." They continue to post daily.
Here's a glimpse.

Do Yourself a Favor...
...and go see this movie. "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" was absolutely fabulous. I loved it and totally didn't expect to.
Here's the trailer.
Here's the soundtrack.
Here's what the NY Times had to say about it:
"Just about everyone in “Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist” seems to be having a good time, and most of them seem like good kids (though Norah’s friend Caroline, played by a scene-stealing Ari Graynor, is probably headed for a stint in rehab)." :/

Cool New Way to Procrastinate
Mozilla Firefox has a bunch of nifty toolbars and search engines that you can add onto your internet screen thing. Such as COOLIRIS which is a image/video search engine that allows you to quickly browse thousands of images and videos in a somewhat 3D-like fashion. It's fun and kind of reminds me of an ipod touch.
